   thank for sharing this experience with us , i am very admired by your knowledge and how you love to share it with every body , but i was wondering for long time why don’t you write and speak “arabic” language?
   iam asking this question not for my Curiosity as a women :p , but i think arabic identify us and we should be proud of our language and i know you are.

   Good question. The thing is most Arabs speak English, while very few Westerners speak Arabic. By speaking in English I can reach much more people. Also, my Arabic typing skills are terrible!

   Dogs have a great personality but they’re filthy animals. You wouldn’t be able to pray five times a day in your home, unless they’re guard dogs who are outside the house and you don’t pet them as often.

   I asked about that actually, and apparently the “mashayekh” (religious scholars) have differing opinions on this. Some say dogs are filthy animals while others say they are not, and that praying in house that has a dog is acceptable. And as I heard Shaikh Al-Azhar say (in person), if there is more than one fatwa, go with the one which your heart is comfortable with.

   Which Al-Azhar sheikh, can you link that please? Because this is an authentic hadith, Bukhari, Book 3, Volume 39, Hadith 515
   Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “Whoever keeps a dog, one Qirat of the reward of his good deeds is deducted daily, unless the dog is used for guarding a farm or cattle.” Abu Huraira (in another narration) said from the Prophet, “unless it is used for guarding sheep or farms, or for hunting.” Narrated Abu Hazim from Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, “A dog for guarding cattle or for hunting.”

   Apparently angels don’t enter the house. Look I don’t want to be judging you or anything, I just mentioned it as a comment. Feel free to ignore this please.

    I mean which sheikh did the fatwa where dogs are allowed at home where a person prays. I kind of responded/reacted quickly to that, my bad.

    hi Suhail Thank u for sharing this personal story with us. i have a 6 years old daughter and a 4 years old son who are both scared of dogs and i cant help them since im not confortable around dogs.i guess i have to find a friend who has a dog and who s willing to help us as well.Im happy to hear that ur son is getter more confident but i dont understand why the dog didnt like u. p.s : the word in french is “couche” not “accouche” which means “to deliver” but u were very close. best regards, karima
