I'm in Love – Don't Tell My Wife!

Okay, just kidding! Let me get right to the point before nasty rumours start spreading. I’m delighted to announce that we’re pregnant! Technically, only she’s pregnant, but I say “we” to be a supportive husband 
And I’m already falling in love with the new baby. My wife and I took the kids to see a scan of the baby last week. It’s now 12 weeks old and looking great! They’re not supposed to tell you the gender at this stage because the scan is still not very accurate. But the doctor checked “the area” and said something like “don’t quote me, but looks like it’s a girl” (of course I’m doing just what he asked me not to do, I’m quoting him).
I got so excited! Another girl, wow! Now I’ll have two girls at home that are all over me! Yes! Girls are great. Selma (my 6 year old) adores me.
But a few minutes later the doctor said “hold on, now that I have a better angle it looks like it’s going to be a boy.”
Hmmm, okay… let me just adjust my mindset for a second…
Yes! Another boy! Boys are great. Laith and I (my 4 year old) spar and play together all the time. I’m his ultimate super hero and having another one like him would be amazing!
To be honest I don’t really care if it’s a girl or a boy. Either way I’m already falling in love with the baby and we haven’t even met. It’s a strange thing, parenthood. Your relationship with your child starts before they’re even born. And once they’re born it gets stronger and stronger each day.
Anyway, I just hope it’s healthy and that everything goes smoothly. Please pray for us. I’ll keep you posted.

Congratulations to you and your family. We wish you all the best for a healthy baby no matter what gender. Children grow up so fast and I am just starting to understand this comment myself. Leah is almost 4 months already. You just MUST enjoy every moment with them or they are lost forever.
